School Of The Renaissance Soldier Midwest is a full immersion event, for Pike & Shot. The idea for this event originated when a group of reenactors attended the Actions of the Lowe Countries event in California. The event was sponsored by the School of the Renaissance Soldier which was formed by directors Patrick Gaul and Gordon Frye and Research Associates Barry Siler and David Luckhart. The historical accuracy and the vast knowledge of the organizers made for an incredible experience. This event will follow the guidelines established by the SRS for. Participants will enjoy the weekend training with other reenactment groups in other military units. Participants will be drilled in period battlefield tactics, there will be a chance to share information between groups, swap lies around the fire, learn a new dice game, dance, drink, and experience the life of the Renaissance soldier! This event will be in period dress, accent, and military courtesies from 12:00 PM Saturday until Sunday afternoon.
